By being baptised, we were buried with Christ. Through our faith in God’s power—the same power that brought Jesus back from the dead—we have also been raised to a brand-new life with Him (Colossians 2:12).
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a symbol of the new, transformed life we now have in Him. This is known as a “regenerated” life (Colossians 2:12).
When Christ rose from the dead, we were raised with Him. This is part of God’s wisdom, allowing believers to be completely identified with Christ (1 Corinthians 1:24; Galatians 2:20).
This new life exists within our spirit. It is a life that shares in God’s own nature, made possible through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit living inside us (1 Corinthians 3:16).
