WHAT IS EVIL?
SATAN AND HIS ANGELS
Satan and his demons are always waging war with things of God and he is the enemy of righteousness.

“And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

HOW TO OVERCOME EVIL
1. FAITH
We work by faith and not by sight. Everything in the kingdom of God works by faith. By faith we overcome evil.

“for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]—”

2. WORD OF GOD
The word of God is our weapon and it was referred to as sword of the spirit by Apostle Paul. The word of God is a weapon against the devil. It was the testimony of the word of God that St. Michael used in casting out Satan and his angels from heaven to earth.

“For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energising, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12 AMP
3. TESTIMONY OF THE WORD
Testifying the word of God gives total victory and opens the gates of heaven. Testimony of the word of God allow us to see the word of God in a way that is already manifested in our life. It is more like the living the word.

“And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death.”
Revelation 12:11 AMP
4. THE BLOOD OF JESUS
The blood of Jesus is a massive weapon and attack on the devil. The scriptures let us know that the blood of Jesus has redeemed us from all our sins and from the hand of Satan. Just as the Israelites sprinkled the blood on their door step and they were exempted from the spirit of death.
This is blood of the only begotten son of God, Jesus, which binds and loose anything we ask.

“When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross.”
Colossians 2:15 AMP
5. THE NAME OF JESUS
There is power in the name of Jesus. God has given Him a name that is above every other name and that at the mention of the name of Jesus all knees must bow.
In Luke 10:17; it reported that the 70 followers of Jesus returned and said ‘even the demons are subject to us in your name’.

“For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father.”

6. HOLY SPIRIT
Without the spirit of God we cannot live a Christian spirit-filled life. The Holy Spirit is our source of power, revelation and wisdom.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 NKJV
7. PRAYER
Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons to fight against the enemy. The alter of prayer is where we place our request before God and ask for whatsoever we want when we are in fellowship with God.

“The LORD said, “I have in fact seen the affliction (suffering, desolation) of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters (oppressors); for I know their pain and suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand (power) of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a land [that is] good and spacious, to a land flowing with milk and honey [a land of plenty]—to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.”
Exodus 3:7-8 AMP
8. FASTING
Fasting is a great weapon of revelation to deal with the power of the devil. Prophet Jehosophat engaged in fasting and his enemies were destroyed without having to fight against his enemy. Also Jesus fasted for 40 days and was tempted afterwards by Satan.

“And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

9. PRAISE
When we praise God, we are raining snares on our enemy. Prophet Jehosophat won his battle through praise.

“When he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who sang to the LORD and those who praised Him in their holy (priestly) attire, as they went out before the army and said, “Praise and give thanks to the LORD, for His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever.” When they began singing and praising, the LORD set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were struck down [in defeat].”

10. DOING GOOD AND SHOWING LOVE
When we show love and do good to our enemies it rains coals of fire and snares upon them.

“Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
Romans 12:20 NKJV
