*IMMERSING WITH THE WORD*
God is a Spirit & the Spirit of God is the Word of God- *John 6:63*.
Everything exists and was created by the spoken Word of God. The heaven, the earth, underneath the earth and every living thing *Colossians 1:16*
To walk in righteousness is only by the Word of God. To obtain anything in the kingdom of God such as, obedience, faith, hope, love and many more is by yielding to what God has spoken in His Word.
The scriptures let us know that when we are born again, our spirit man is united back to God through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:22). The journey of a believer continues in the realm of the mind through meditating and renewing the mind by the Word of God.
The mind (Soul) of a man is an essential part of the Christian journey because walking in obedience and acting on the Word of God occurs in the mind with the cooperation with the Holy Spirit. This is the reason Satan is very interested in our mind because the battle is in the mind. How? Satan tries hard to cause man to yield to his tricks through our mind rather than the word of God, which are sinful and goes against the Word of God. For example, we may read something that causes us to judge a person and Satan would try different ways to get us to judge and say judgemental things about a person which is opposite the Word of God, which states we shouldn’t judge so that we too don’t get judged.
In order to be intimate with God, the mind of a believer must be renewed day and night with the Word of God (Romans 12:2).
Analogy: The air that we inhale and exhale into our lungs are called Oxygen & Carbon dioxide (co2). The life of a man depends on the air that we inhale and exhale. Similarly, the life of a man is dependent on the Word of God in order to discover and walk in the inheritance from God, such as salvation, long life, divine health, finances, fruitfulness & the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
It is important to understand that God cannot change His words to fit our lifestyle. Rather, we must fit our lifestyle into His Word.
God did not change His Word for his only son Jesus, so why would it be any different for man. When Jesus went to the garden of Gethsemane to pray, he became anxious about dying and prayed that God should change the plan if it was possible (Matthew 26:39; 14:36). The plan couldn’t changed because it was written in the Word of God from the beginning of time, that Jesus would come to this world and die for mankind to unite mankind back to God.
The reason why a lot of our prayers seems unanswered in the aspect of; fruitfulness, marriages, finances, divine health, long life, is because our mind is not renewed adequately with the Word of God (Deuteronomy 28:1-3). When the Word of God is not occupied in the mind of a believer, it gives Satan an access door to carry out his tricks and devices.
The Word of God is POWERFUL enough to change any situation according to our own obedience to the Word of God being fulfilled.
*HOW DO WE IMMERSE WITH THE WORD?*
*SCRIPTURAL READINGS*
_The entrance of the word of God gives light and understanding. The moment we are reading and studying the word we are feeding our spirit man_ (Psalm 119:130).
*THROUGH SERMONS*
When we listen to sermons/preachings, the Holy spirit helps us to interpret what we have heard and bring to remembrance what we have studied in the Word of God in our personal time which enhances our understanding and faith. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).
*THROUGH MEDITATION*
When we meditate on the word of God day and night; it helps the process of renewing our mind. When the mind is constantly renewed, it enhances our growth as a believer and become spiritual mature (Joshua 1:8).
*THROUGH THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT*
The Holy Spirit is our helper and He can help us to renew our mind when we invite him to teach us things when we study the Word of God. When the Holy Spirit helps us, it is our responsibility to submit and cooperate with the Holy Spirit to bring our desires into fruition (John 14:26).
*THROUGH PRAYER (INCLUDING PRAYING IN TONGUES)*
When we pray we communicate to God. The only language God understands is His Word; therefore we must pray to him using his Word. When we pray in Tongues, our spirit man prays as we do not know what we ought to pray but the spirit intercedes in our prayer (Romans 8:26).
Stay blessed & encouraged!
