God is spirit, the spirit of God is the word of God. John 6:63.
Everything existed through the spoken word of God. The heaven, the earth and underneath earth and every living soul was created by the spoken word of God. Colossians 1:16
To be in wright standing with God is through His words. Everything in His kingdom is through His words; obedience, faith, hope, love and many more is through observing and yielding to what He Has spoken in the scriptures.
The scripture let us know that when we are born again the spirit of a man is united back to God through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:22). The remaining part of the journey of a believer is in the realm of is mind. The mind (Soul) of a man is an essential part of our christian journey because observing, obeying and acting on the word of God is in the mind of a believer and in cooperation with the Holy Spirit. That is the reason Satan is also interested in your mind so that you can yield to his devices rather than the word of God. To be intimate with God, the mind of a believer must be renewed day and night with the word of God (Romans 12:2).
A quick analogy of air that we breath (Oxygen(co2)) and the lungs. The life of a man depends on the air that we inhale and exhale. So also and more importantly is the word of God. Mans life must be dependent on the word of God in other to unfold his God given inheritance. Mans inheritance in regards to; Salvation, long life, divine health, finances, fruitfulness, the fruits of the Holy Spirits are all through His spoken words.
We must also understand that God cannot change His words to suit any of its creation. Rather, we must fit our self into His words. He does not change His words to suit His son Jesus how much more man. When Jesus went to the garden of Gethseman and His flesh became anxious to the point of death then He prayed; God let this cup passover me if it’s your will (Matthew 26:39).
The reason why a lot of our prayers seems unanswered in the aspect of; fruitfulness, marriages, finances, divine health, long life, in love, is because our mind is not renewed adequately with the word of God l(Deuteronomy 28:1-3). When the word of God is not matured enough in the mind of a believer it gives Satan an access door to exhibit his devices.
The word of God is potent enough to change any situation after our own obedience to His words are being fulfilled.
HOW DO WE IMMERSE WITH THE WORD?
SCRIPTURAL READINGS
The entrance of the word of God gives light and understanding. The moment we are reading and studying the word we are feeding our spirit man (Psalm 119:130).
THROUGH SERMONS
When we listen to sermons and the Holy spirit helps us to interpret and realign with what we have studied in our personal time then hearing will be established. As faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).
THROUGH MEDITATIONS
When we meditate on the word of God day and night; the journey helps us to renew our mind. When the mind is renewed we are walking in spiritual maturity (Joshua 1:8).
THROUGH THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is our helper and He can help us to renew our mind when we ask him to remind us of what the scripture says about a particular situation. When the Holy Spirit helps in reminding us, it is our responsibility to now yield to him and cooperate with the Holy Spirit to make what we desire happen (John 14:26).
THROUGH PRAYER (INCLUSIVE OF PRAYING IN TONGUES)
When we pray we are in communication with God. The only language God understand is His words; we must pray to him through what He has spoken to us in the scriptures. Especially when we pray in Tongues our spirit prays as we do not know what we ought to pray but the spirit intercedes in our prayer (Romans 8:26).
