LOOK NOT AT THE THINGS THAT ARE SEEN BUT TO THE THINGS THAT ARE NOT SEEN.
The scripture confirms that the things that are seen are temporal, but the things that are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).
The things that are seen comes from what we can see physically on earth. We see earthly things with our physical senses: sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch (Genesis 3:6).
The scripture states that in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Both the heaven and the earth belong to the Lord (Psalm 139:8). But, He said we should not look at the things that are seen, for the things that are seen are temporal (2 Cor 4:18).
The reason for this is the event that occured shortly after God created the heavens, the earth and man.
When man was created, God gave man a commandment to not eat from the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, for the day man eats from it man shall die (Gen 2:17). Unfortunately, man disoyed God by yielding to the deception of Satan (Genesis 3:6).
God confirmed His Word through Matthew and said… “do not lay up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy” (Matthew 6:19). “But lay up treasures for yourself in heaven, where neither moth and rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6:20).
All what we can see around us today are created from the unseen realm which is the Word of God (Genesis 1:1-26). The Word of God is descriptive of what we can’t see, such as heavenly treasures, therefore we see and believe the Word of God by faith.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1).
Brother and sisters, enjoy what God has provided for you on earth and it’s beauty, but do not let it take the place of God in your heart because anything you place above God is an idol, which is the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:20).
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21).
Stay blessed and be encouraged.
