POSSESS YOUR INHERITANCE

It is essential to understand that everything Moses did in the Old Testament were based on revelation of things to happen through Jesus Christ (Hebrew 3:5).

God called Joshua after the death of Moses to re-establish the covenant he made with Abraham (Genesis 12:1-6).

God said to Joshua that he should be strong and be courageous to take the Isrealites to the land He has promised their forefathers for their inheritance (Joshua 1:1-8).

It is important to take note of the word ‘take possession’ used in Joshua 1:11. Joshua said to the camp of the Isrealites to take possession of the land God promised them, from the wilderness, to Lebanon and as far as the great river Euphrates to all the land of Hittites and the great sea towards the going down of the sun (Joshua 1:4).

The Isrealites began to take possesion of Canaan bit by bit, as each tribe were allocated a land to possess over a period of time (Joshua 13:6).

The law of Moses given by God was to prepare the Isrealites on how to receive and take possession of their Abrahamic inheritance through the Grace of God in Jesus (Galatians 3:29).

Just as the Isrealites took possession of Canaan Land bit by bit based on allocation, similarly, we must take possession of our Abrahamic possession that is in Jesus. Galatians 2:20 says, we have been crucified with Jesus and the life we live in this flesh is no longer me but Jesus that lives in me.

God gave us the gift of grace to believe in Jesus, which cannot be achieved by our own human efforts (Ephesians 2:8). In the old testament, God spoke (his Word) directly to the Isrealites about possessing the Land of Cannan, which they aligned to and as a result, they went with spears, swords and arrows to fight their enemies because it was during the time of the Law.

Now we are in Christ, we don’t need spears, arrows and swords to possess our inheritance, rather it is by declaring the Word and promises of God. The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart that is the word of faith (Romans 10:8).

Begin to take possession of your inheritance in Jesus just as the Isrealites took possession of Canaan Land, and today, they stand as a mighty nation in their God given inheritance.

Take your possession in Christ as God said you have been redeemed through Christ (1 Corinthians 1:30)

In Jesus you are the righteousness of God (1 Corinthians 1:30)

You have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)

You have every spiritual blessings in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:3)

By His stripes you have been healed (Isaiah 53:5)

Jesus has taken away your pain and your sorrow (Isaiah 53:4)

You are a new creature in Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17)

In Jesus you are rooted and grounded in love. (Ephesians 3:17)

You are in Christ with God (Col 3:3)

In Christ you have no condemnation (Romans 8:11)

Continue to fill in the bank………..

Stay blessed & encouraged!
