Spiritual Law
God’s words are spiritual laws that control both the spiritual and physical worlds. In the book of Joshua, the Bible says we should always speak about God’s laws and think about them day and night. By doing this, we can make sure we follow everything written in them (Joshua 1:8).
We can compare this to natural laws, such as speed limits. For example, in some parts of the UK, the speed limit is 20mph to keep children safe. If a driver goes too fast, a camera catches them, and they get a fine.
These physical laws exist because of spiritual laws. We know this because God created everything in the beginning—both the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).
To be obedient means to follow the laws God has given us through His words. Jesus told His followers that if they live by His teachings, they are truly His disciples. He said they would know the truth, and that truth would set them free (John 8:31-32).
Remember, you become a servant to whatever you choose to obey. If you follow the law of sin, it leads to death. But if you choose to obey God, it leads to righteousness and life.
