Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45).
From the scripture above we can confirm that our mouth and our heart are connected.
Therefore, when we speak, our words reveals the condition of our heart (Romans 10:8).
As believers, it is important for us to guard our hearts with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23) using the Word of God, because our hearts are vulnerable to being defiled when we believe the lies of the devil (John 8:44) over the Truth of God’s word.
The heart of man is the doorway to his spirit (1 Corinthians 2:11, Job 32:8). The Word of God states that the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are sons of God (Romans 8:6).
The scriptures above confirms that The Spirit of God is joined to our human spirit, and our human spirit is linked to our heart and our heart is connected to our mouth (Romans 8:16, 1 Corinthians 2:11, Luke 6:45).
God created man to implement His will on earth because man was created in His image (Genesis 1:26). The Word of God (Christ) is our identity so it is important that our words and behavior align with the Word of God (2 Corinthians 5:17, John 1:5).
In conclusion, the words that we speak either aligns with the Truth of God’s Word which is our identity because we are a spirit made in the image of God (John 8:31), or aligns to the lies of Satan we have yielded to (John 8:44).
