The power in the name of Jesus.

It is with meekness and humbleness I write to you about the power in the name of Jesus.

According to *John 14:13-14,* Jesus said *_”Whatever you ask in my name, I will do. That the father may be glorified in the son. If you ask me anything in my name I will do it.”_*

A lot of us as believers use this name but sometimes we may not understand the weight that the name of Jesus carries.

I would like to remind us that Apostle Peter healed the sick and raised the dead in the name of Jesus.

As a Christian and beliver I would like to open our eyes on how to use the name of Jesus, to heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead as he has commanded.

Number one thing we should observe is our righteousness. Jesus said in scriptures *_”I in them and you in me”*_ – *John 17:23.*

Maintaining righteousness comes with a lot of self discipline, most importantly what we think in our minds.

Our thoughts could lead us to sin and not walk in fellowship with Jesus. That is why we use the name of Jesus and it seems like a mere word.

I tell you more solemnly as a beliver, we have 3 factors that can hinder our righteousness and our fellowship with Jesus.

*1. Our everyday thoughts*

*2. The world we live in*

*3. The devil himself (that whispers lies to us)*

In my next post I will shed more light on these 3 factors.

Brothers and sisters, let us examine ourselves on a daily basis and ask ourselves “Am I walking in righteousness?”

We can answer this questions by examining our hearts by ensuring that we are walking in alignment with the word of God. This will in turn, give weight to the name of Jesus when we call it.

Stay blessed and encouraged
