It is a common knowledge that Satan was one of the arc angels in heaven who was known for his powerful singing abilities. However there is a misconception about Satan which creates ignorance among believers and therefore gives Satan power which he doesn’t and will never have over believers. Satan was cast down from heaven to earth after a war broke out between Him, his angels, Angel Micheal and his angels (Revelation 12:7-9). Satan is known as the “king of the earth”- with the mission to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10) and ultimately prevent believers from having a relationship with God and knowing their identify in Christ.
I HAVE GOOD NEWS! The blood of Jesus triumphed over Satan so that we are no longer under the curse of Satan, rather under the new covenant of Jesus which is the promise of redemption by God to believers on the basis of God’s grace!!
The truth about Satan is; HE’S WEAK & POWERLESS.. 1 Peter 5:8 days “Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” Satan presents himself to be powerful and intimidating but he is the total opposite. The blood of Jesus has given us DOMINION, POWER & AUTHORITY over the power of the enemy (Satan) (Luke 10:19) and spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12).
However it is important for us to recognise that Satan and his angels are not human beings that we fight against. Paul said in Ephesians 6:12 that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. Paul continued to say in verse 13 that, “Therefore put on the full armor of God,so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground”.
Our weapons and armour against the enemy are not physical but by the divine power of God via the Word of God (2 Corinthians 10:4: Ephesians 6:14-17).
Satan lost the battle in heaven against angel Micheal and the other angels because he was not strong enough (Revelations 8:12). So Satan is still not strong enough against us as believers on earth because we have the power of God inside of us through the blood of Jesus.
That’s why we as believers have to walk in the spirit constantly to carry the armour of God and use our spiritual weapon (The Word is God) against Satan.
Romans 8:13 says “For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”
This simply means that if we live according to the physical realm being ignorant to the power we have in the spiritual realm, then we grant Satan access in our lives to torment us. However if we walk by the Spirit, we continue to live in the position of power and authority over Satan (Ephesians 2:6).
So brothers and sisters, let’s continue to place Satan in his place (beneath us) and walk in the authority Christ has given us through the blood of Jesus and the redemption of our sins. Satan is and will always be WEAK & POWERLESS and that’s the Truth about Satan.
Stay encouraged and empowered!!
