The scriptures states that the one who speaks in tongues does not speak to people but speaks to God (1 Corinthians 14:2). Many believers are unable to identify the difference between their spirit and soul. This scripture reveals that when we speak in tongues, it is our spirit man that speaks, because we are communicating with God.
In Romans 8:16, the scriptures states that the Holy Spirit bears witness with our human spirit, so when we speak in tongues it is the Holy Spirit that gives us utterance.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God that dwells in a believer which is sent from God (John 14:16).
It is important to understand that we are gates for heavenly intervention on earth. This is because the Spirit of God that dwells inside of us, is the same Spirit that is connected to God who sits in heaven (Revelation 4:2).
In conclusion, as we are aware that our spirit man is united with the Spirit of God (Romans 8:16). Similarly our spirit man is connected to our heart, because out of our heart flows the rivers of the living water (John 7:38). Additionally, our heart is connected to our mouth because out of the abundance of our heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45). Therefore, when we confess based on this understanding, we trigger the move of God upon the earth.
We must ensure that we guard our hearts with all dillegence (Proverbs 4:23) in order for the move of God to occur on earth. If not, our heart may be defiled and will hinder the move of God.
