You are not your physical body, your feelings, or the thoughts in your head. You are a spirit, and your true identity is found in Jesus christ (Genesis 1:26; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:11).
You were cretaed in the image of God. From the very beginning of the world, your spirit was designed to be in union with Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 1:4).
It is your responsibility to train your mind, your emotions, and your physical body to align with who you are in Christ (Galatians 2:20; Romans 12:2; Galatians 3:13).
Having an “identity in Christ” means you share in God’s own nature. Therefore, your spirit, soul, and body—should reflect the nature of God (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
